E90 320d. They reliable, have more than enough power and brilliant fuel consumption.

Mine averages 6.4l/100km daily driving from benoni to Randburg in peak traffic, and 5.5l/100km down to durban.

You might not get a low mileage one for your budget, but I may sell mine soon for a good price if my colleague finally agrees to sell me his car.

Brendan, whats your budget bru? The 320i E46 as mentioned above is a better and more reliable car then the 318i.

For sure

M54 is bullet proof :praise:

Have to agree the E46 318i is a good car, my brother in law had one since new and only traded his in last year for an e90.

Great build quality, the only things he had repaired while he owned it all those years was the water bottle (only because the stick on the float was old and broke), battery (this was the original), coil pack and cam position sensor.

Dude don’t rush into buying one I test drove 12 E46 330d’s before I purchased mine.be certain that it is the one you looking for. Most of these cars are also older than 10 years old so you are not going to find a perfect one, many of them will have one or two minor things to address.

so i test drove two E46 330d's this weekend, all i can say is " it is the one"!!!!

what a well balanced car , i was super shocked when i drove a stock 135kw one. the power delivery is great and the drive is so smooth. im also very happy with a auto box.

thanks nikhil for a drive in yours to , this car made the 135kw version seem slow , your car is in awesome condition and runs really strong.

330d is the car for me!:thumbs:

We will also check the box's state of health before purchasing. Awesome choice Bre, i cant wait to roll with this beauty.

Very difficult to check how healthy the box is until it lets go... Its very good at compensating to make it feel like its all 100% and then one day its not... Personally I wouldnt do any software on one of these with an auto box
