Reliable BMW repairs?

Hi All

Would just like some recommendations on where I can take a 318is thats out of motorplan for reliable repairs? Am based in Gauteng. The old lady's car broke down over the weekend and she had it towed to Alberante BMW, they quoted over 10 grand

It seems the 'Stealers' are at it again!:thumbdo::argh:

LABOUR
Diagnosis - Qty 18?? (is this minutes of labour?) Unit R44.63 = R 803.34
Removing & Installing /replacing diffential pressure sensor - Qty 3 Unit R44.63 = R 133.89
Removing & installing intake manifold Qty 16?? Unit R44.63 = R 714.08
Removing & instaling/replacing intake fuel level sender for fuel gauge Qty 16?? Unit R44.63 = R 714.08
Programming Qty 6 Unit R44.63 = R 267.78
Alignment of EWS and DME Qty 3 Unit R44.63 = R 133.89

PARTS
Part no P 13 62 7 548 994 CRANKSHAFT S Qty 1 = R 1610.00
Part no P 16 14 6 766 942 SUCTION UNIT RH E46 Qty 1 = R 4578.90

+ VAT R 1253.84

Does anyone know what the suction unit does (the old lady had her car in for repairs last month and I think it may be related?), and if I could source a secondhand one somewhere?
Assume crankshaft S refers to the crankshaft sensor?

Is there any further info on their diagnosis?

All I see here is a big fat list of unrelated items, the car was running then broke, now you get a list of seven items......( it cant be all of them breaking at once)

Ask them to explain which particular one caused the car to stop running and replace that one. The rest if they are genuinely faulty you can look into once the car is running again.

Unfortunately my Mom's not too technically minded, so I'll need to call them tomorrow.
However on the quote it doesn't state any part no's for the sensors? It seems they are just charging the labour for removing and reinstalling them? The only parts quoted are the "Crankshaft S" and "Suction Unit"? Not sure why they would need to remove all the different sensors and then only replace the crank s & suction unit?? Looks like they aren't exactly sure what is wrong!

Bump!
Anyone know a reliable workshop in Gauteng that can repair my old lady's 318is? She has to let them know if they should go ahead by end of today

Hate having the 'Stealers' rip people off!:argh:
