Hi.

I just bought E46 318i. I need to fix a wheel rack end and tie rod end on the left front side of the car and the bonnet cable needs replacing.

Which mechanic is reliable around cape town?

Zeemax are the worst guys to take it to, you would be better off driving the car off a pier at the waterfront.

I think "Farm Yard" is a mis-characterization of their fully equipped workshop... and yes, they are busy, and yes, you are entitled to your opinion based on the service you received from them... but Zeemax have multiple documented failures on this forum... so let's not turn this into a handbag swinging match.

Definitely not Brilliant Mechanical.

Took my car there multiple times for one issue and they charged me to replace a whole array of parts that never resolved it. Useless.

Try German Auto Specialist in Montague Gardens. Shaun, the owner, is a great and very knowledgeable guy who has always resolved my car troubles.

I only use Garage808 for my E46 318, same car in the photo you have in opening post.

Garage808 is really good, and have decent prices on both labour and parts, mostly OEM parts unless they know they non-OEM part is equally good or better.

They however do choose not to service very high mileage vehicles, unless you have been with them for a while. I would say, if your vehicle is high 200 000km and it has never been serviced with them before, they may say no to helping you.
