Well done. You guys are doing great work for our bmw cars.:clap::clap::clap:
Especially achieving those times at altitude. Love the picture of the 335 on the drag strip...so nice...those rims are too die for....eish.

Xpower. I will run a seperate thread; the JB3 community broke many international records (also at altitude) over the weekend with quite a few 135 & 335s in the 11 seconds (mainly with race fuel; JB3 1.4; decatted; DCI & running with the stock turbos.) I will post the times in the week. Two supercharged V8 M3s ran 12.7 & another supercharged M3 V8 could only muster 22.8 (imagine). Two C63 with full bolt-ons also 12.8 etc...

Brilliant, just a pity you can't reply to a pm.

Sorry, I seem to miss the PM notifications. Replied.

On pump fuel, but not stock rubber. Semi-slick tyres, but everyone runs them. We had competition from rival tuning houses & their car had more mods than our chip & decatt.

I think at our elevation you may actually lose power with too much octane. But 98 should be OK. I doubt you will gain anything major though.

Yes south afrtican records, except for the M5 which is a world record.

Those awesome times are at the coast. 335 altitude record at ODI raceway is 12.9 by the car with the beautiful wheels. I must get around to busting that one.

I saw the JB3 results, awesome times. A flash tuned car in the states also ran 12.1 running GIAC which is highly impressive as GIAC does not try break track record and compete directly with the piggy back cars.

well done , times are good let hope you can keep the rivals away from them.

Actually the only reason we ran those times is because the competition was on our tail. We had to up our game. There was another V10 there that ran 12.7 in the high 180's on the same track same day. And there were rival V8's breathing down our neck. So actually we should encourage competition. The BMW community will gain if we challenge each other. I spoke to my bra Cleo for over half an hour on Sunday. I sincerely hope he beats our V8 time & I know he can. That way it will force us to work on the car & come back stonger. And in turn he will do the same after that. And the nett result is the V8's times will start going down into the low 12's.

Did you spot my typical South African comments in between??? At least it all turned out well with the BMW guys - M3 vs Twin turbo crowd shaking hands and sharing tools/wheels & stuff...that is true sportmanship...we bitch too much about how fast our cars are and forget about simple courtesy and generosity...

unfortunately my camera battery was dead. It was awesome to check the M's running because most of the time the citi golfs used to be running the scenes. The citi golfs had no show. They had a GTI 5 that broke into the 12s
but i wanted to see couple of 335's run but they didnt have any.

Would be great to see. The white M3 ran 12.7 with inferior tires.

Sour grapes again. BF is inferior to MT in your opinion.

We ran a 12.6 with 3/4 tank of pump fuel, s/w & decatt only.

The competitor car had s/w, racefuel, full exhaust, pulleys, intake, some throttle modifications.

Do you know that I just found out we ran 12.7 with normal Toyo R888 semi's as well? So we ran 0.1 faster when we fitted the MT's. So now I guess Toyo R888 circuit intermediates are also superior to BF Goodrich drag radials?

:clap::thumbsup:

Anyway, thanks for the compliments guys. Feels good to have so many records. Espcially when the opposition is there on the same day, same track. That is the only way one can benchmark oneself.

We are busy with some work for the next drags. We will take it to the next level & strive to lower the times. I hope the opposition come full prepared next time becos we WILL beat them again & I hate for excuses to pop up when we win the next event.

So diarise Margate in Feb, everybody go & order whatever tyres you need & see you at the track.

Haha I am not really interested in Margate and what happens there. I am interested in the reef as that is my playing field. Now the question is do I have what it takes to beat the 12.9 sec monster.

Sher you should ask Cleo when those BF's where purchased.
