i can rebuild the rack for you too...

or i can offer a already rebuilt rack as a swap out to save you down time.

i have for most models ranging from e30 to e46.

and the racks are rebuilt properly.

Thanx RS.

My problem is that the pump is leaking oil and I would like to fix that, and was thinking of doing the rack at the same time. Can you check out the pump and give a verdict of what could be the problem ?

hi all i know this is a very old topic. but where can i go to get mine fixed or replaced. its leaking on both ends. and i think the chrome shaft part is also shot. the dealers are looking @ R9950.00 for a new one with a R3000 refund on the old one

Some Powersteering advice please. 2003 E46 with LUK LF20 pump,

As I got home today the car died as i got onto the driveway with a moderate incline. When I started it again there was a horrific whining noise and then i completely lost power steering. Prior to that i was suffering from grinding when turning the wheel. All this point to common LUK LF20 power steering pump failure.

I intend to send the car in to get everything sorted once in Oct/Nov but in the meantime is there anyway to revive the powersteering system(if it isn't completely broken), it seems completely dead. I know the right way to fix this problem would be new resevoir, lines and pump but surely there's some trick to keep it going for another month.

Very interested in a rebuilt short ratio rack @"racing snake" but i also have play on the steering column on the joint directly next to the exhaust manifold, that seems like I'll need more than just a rack.

Racing Snake is scamming people in Australia
Buy a new pump from Goldwagen for roughly R1.6k

Hi guys another Power steering related question.
Has anyone tried the Meyle PS pump ?
Not too sure where to find the Luk LF30 pump but the Meyle pump seems readily available, just not keen on buying a lemon of a pump...

Meyle is not a bad brand, but i have no experience with their pumps.

Perhaps google some reviews.
