Recommended mechanics JHB east for diesels

Hi Fanatics,

My 320D is feeling very down on power and has started sounding different recently too. The power loss was first noticed after I had my mechanic change the damper pulley and belt, however I can't see how that could have caused this. I've also checked for codes and found none. The car was at BMW for the oil service special too and they didn't report any issues.

Which are the recommended BMW diesel mechanics in JHB East? I need someone who can diagnose the problem..

Sorry, it's a 2009 E90 Auto, I'm in the Edenvale area, but don't mind driving till Alberton or Springs.

i usually send my car to supertek they are close to the Rand airport. i have never had any issues with them and they are RMI approved so they can do warranty claims if you have a aftermarket warranty

only problem is you need to book about 2 to 3 weeks in advance as they are always super busy but the prices are good as well. :dunnoanymore:

My 2011 E90 320d also had a bit of power loss but mine was sorted out after replacing the boost seal on the charge pipe. Not sure if that was the cause but it has been running like a dream again ever since :fencelook:

Thanks for the recommendations gents, been crazy busy so haven't been able to have it checked out yet but its gotten worse so definitely need to do something.

Drove my bros E90 320d with the 135kw engine and the difference feels way more than 5kw and more torque so something definately up.

The mileage is at 160k now, so thinking I need to decat anyway if it helps with turbo life.

Supertek is also literally on my way to work so will try them as a second if we can't figure it out

So I was at a friends place who has a snap-on OBD2 tool, scanned the car and found no issues.

Eventually decided to set the snap-on to log and took the car for a drive, logged about a 10 minute drive and nothing obvious came through the data.

Next up, going to call Supertek and take it in, was thinking of Ross Duncan but its difficult with logistics working in the east!

Thanks bro, at this stage not sure if its a big job, just need someone to diagnose and then can see from there. I'll try Supertek first, otherwise I might take it to Nige Auto in Benoni as my cousin is good friends with him.
