Recommended mechanics in CPT

Hi all,

I know the question's been asked in a couple of other threads but some are a bit old or outdated.

I've got an 2002 E46 318i (facelift) that's consuming way too much oil. From what some members tell me it could be various reasons like valve stem rings etc.

I need good honest mechanic that can have a look for me.

Anyone want to recommend a mechanic or shop? (I'm in northern burbs but don't mind driving to town or southern side

I phoned them this morning and with the clock on 277 000km they unfortunately can't help me

Have never heard of someone being turned down because of the mileage of the car??

I second this. The first thing Rolf usually tries is a LiquiMoly product which might help the seals re-seal and reduce oil consumption. Its worth at try at only R350, even if it is not a true fix.

Older cars are trickier to work on, more comebacks. So Garage808 decided its not worth their time to service older cars.

Yeah I just took my car to Garage 808 and Colin is trying to stay away from the normal servicing etc. I'm sure he will still be taking returning customers, but probably not taking on new customers etc for that kind of work.

Very interesting. Currently my 2003 e46 318i goes to them, but I have been going there for a while now, also my mileage is at 175k now. This is a little worrying, because they really do outstanding work.

Very interesting. Currently my 2003 e46 318i goes to them, but I have been going there for a while now, also my mileage is at 175k now. This is a little worrying, because they really do outstanding work.

I suspect it's fine for customers where they have been maintaining the car for awhile, but they probably won't touch an old car that that they are not familiar with.
