technical Recode seat temps

Hi all. Can someone assist me with changing my heated seat temps? They're not getting as warm as I'd like and apparently this can be changed with coding. I'm not even going to bother asking BMW because they'll just say "there's nothing wrong".

The option certainly seems to exist

No button to adjust temps ?

No there is a button to select level 1, 2, 3 but they're all not hot enough. On my E92 after a little bit I have to turn the things off they get so hot. On the G01 they're luke warm lol

I assume because we are a Hot Climate country, the car was specced to not have too hot seat warmers?

Also, I guess regulations these days limit how much damage people can do to their bodies?

No, I don't think so. These are faulty. I finally lost it with BMW Fourways today because in fact the drivers side heater is not working at all. It switches off 3 sec after turning it in, and the passenger side may as well be off.
That together with the fact they didn't bother checking the car, with all the missing stuff etc and I had had enough
On the plus side I told them that now they'd better give me a set of rubber mats for all the inconvenience🤣

Hahah, no ways I’ll get rid of it. Enjoy it too much. Besides doubt you would want a convertible. It’s alpine white III :)

I've got a Melbourne red coupe. Has all the extras (HUD, M sport brakes, M seat belts and all the other crap that doesn't matter, incl Apple Carplay, lol) except heated seats and adaptive lights🤦 Was BMW demo stock so not much choice in colour or extras. I really wanted the Snapper rocks metallic. Every time I see one drive past I have a little twinge of regret that I should have foregone the specs and gotten the colour I wanted.

The heated Seat temps can be adjusted, ive seen the option on ProTool when i was going over the coding for the 640d, so its definately there, ive just never bothered with it, as mine gets more than warm enough.

Ya I e taken it back, they've agreed it's faulty. Can't find the fault though. The relays and seat module test ok, so now they're swapping out the seats with another car to see if the actual seat might be the problem. Hopefully they find it, I don't have much faith in BMW techs these days🤣

After paying a not insignificant amount for this car, I can imagine that this issue (as well as the other issues you noted before) must be getting on your nerves.

I feel that a complimentary Motorplan extension is needed from BMW SA...

Just be very thorough when inspecting your car after they have done whatever they are going to do. BMW Fourways workshop QC is pathetic.
Will do any tips on what to check specifically? It's always so hard to pick.up things immediately, often it's only after a few days that you notice something is skew etc

Ok. So heating element replaced on drivers side. It appears the car switches the whole system off if one side is faulty, which is why passenger also was not working. All seems good now, and I've twisted their arms for those rubber mats lol. Overall I must say the service was not bad - everytime I raised an issue they sorted it out. Could they have thrown in a couple freebies? Sure, but I guess they aren't obliged to. The SA Kim and salesperson Dylan were very professional, and the Used car manager Ockert as well.
After all the warnings about Fourways I'm glad it's all sorted.
