Hi Guys,

As per the Subject has anyone had there BMW recalled to sort out the fault with the battery power cable??

I have been having an issue, my car will all of a sudden loose power where nothing works at all. (Not whilst driving) last for about 10mins then the power comes back and the clock has to be reset etc. :yuck::cry:

It has done this about 3 times in the last month.

Could this be the issue?

Thanks,

Give your service adviser a call, they will be able to check if your vehicle is one of those that is affected by this.

I called mine yesterday and luckily my vehicle isnt on the recall list.

My 08 Bmw 325i sport used to do this.
i drove the car every day.
once i switch it of the car would be dead.

I would have to boost it every time.
The car had 103 000km and was out of plan .

I ended up trading her in for my current 320d

Yes please give us some feedback.I recently got a 2008 325i Coupe.Although I haven't experienced any problems yes I would like to know what the dealerships have to say about your issue!!

I'm just afraid of something happening whilst I'm driving!!!That would be very bad:thumbdo:

Hi guys, me i drive a 1 series 118i 2007 model, since the first day i bought it i was not happy with the idle sound, it idles like a diesel car, took it to the dealer about 3 times, they told me it is normal, i do have a problem with the battery, it does not last for long if i play a radio, if the car is not idle and i play a radio, it will only play for about 5 minutes, then switches off, if i switch it back again, the car wont start, i will have to boost it in order to get it to start, sometimes when the vehicle is parked and is on, but not idling, it will switch itself off, last week i took it again to the dealer, they wanted to charge me R14 000, saying they need to replace the Air Con compressor as it is the one causing the issue, though i paid R 3000, as they 1st quote said it is the tension pullies and the alternator belt they have to replace, but the problem did not go away after replacing that, now they coming up with another story of the air conditioner compressor also wanting to be removed, my issue is that i do not understand wile i have to fork so much if i only have been driving the car for only 5 months, as i bought it last year September, though it was a second hand one with 100 000 km on the clock. but this was before i hear about the recall, all i wanted to know is that should I really be paying so much for a car i only owned for such a period of time? and the worst part, a BMW, shouldn't it be the best car to drive?

Why did you buy the car without test driving it? You can only blame yourself on this one. If you tested it you would have felt the idling was off. Have the dealer fix the problem.

Hi All

Mine is doing the very same thing and have sent it to the dealer for repairs and fighting with BMW to carry the cost as this was never disclosed to me when I bought the car. Not sure if I will remain their customer due to lack of transparency.

Well i got a message from my wife yesterday (im in Cameroon at the moment) and she said she got a 'battery low' warning, will tell her to call BMW and find out if my X6 is on the recall list

Although im not happy at all with BMW at the moment but it needs to be sorted out i suppose.
