Checked the Wheels lastnight, no play wat so ever, turned the wheel and did not hear noises so guess its just the tyres thats giving road noise :thumb:

Not sure on a rear wheel drive, but the way to test rear wheel bearings on a front wheel drive car is to spin the wheels and then hold onto the coil springs to feel for vibrations - if severe you will feel the vibrations transmitted through the springs. For rear wheel drives I am not sure how effective this will be because you are also potentially picking up drive shaft, differential and opposite wheel vibrations... Not sure...

Complicated...
Yeah well it really seems to be tyre noise at this stage... If it does get to a vibrating point then i will go change all my wheel bearings...Thanks for all the help guys :)

Luckily i did not put them on when i put the 18's.

They must have the same thread pattern as the dunflop 7000d's. I had them on the 5 series and they where kuk noisy. Hate those tyres.

Atleast you identified the problem... Sell the tyres and buy new tyres?

Yup i wont let people take me for a ride unless i know for sure that the problem exists.... Well i just got thoses tyres so i will see what to do... You on the other hand need to wait a month or so to see if the noise appears... because mine only started after the tyre wore in abit ;-)

True, hopefully it wont. I saw the add for Kenda's(The tyres i have) in the SnS mag and it says its designed to reduce noise, but then again all tyre manufacturers say the same.

Well tyres can make a similar stuffed wheel bearings sound - my '05 330i has a pair of Continental RTFs on the front that are the original first sold with the car and while there is still a decent amount of tread on them they have gotten harder and worn a bit rough which I gather has made them noisy. It's also a case of RFT FTL!!
