Hi Guys and Gals

Some help please, i need to change my rear break pads on my 323i e90.
I called the "stealers" and they quoted me R3500.00 is this the normal price? or can i get them done cheaper? i haven't tried bosch as yet, just wanted to know what other options i have.

You can get them done for a lot cheaper. The pads itself from the steelers are about R900. But after market ones are around R380. Labour should be a hour at R450.

So for 3500 I don't know what they doing....

Sensors can be bought from the dealers. not very expensive at all. think about R80 the last time I bought.

Brake pads, ATE/Ferodo from Midas a few hundred rand.

Any independent mechie can do the job for you, anything from R200 to R400 to fit. Will take a decent mech about 30-45mins.

E90 sensors are R250 each from the dealer, I replaced front about a month ago.

Ate is a good replacement pad to get and make sure your discs are still within spec.

Out of motorplan, so as already said, DIY is going to be the way to go, OEM is ATE, so try Midas!

Had to do the brakes on my Wife's E46 - did the front and rear disks, pads and wear sensors for around R2700 - agents quoted me over R3200 just to do the rear disks, pads and wear sensor!! :nonono:

You can get the sensors from Goldwagen if I'm not mistaken. And yes, get the ATE pads.
