Real Msport or just a badge

This is a 2005 Sport pack as guys have already stated above, initially the pack didn't have the different bumpers and one or two other things as these were introduced later. Also your M-Sport 17" rims were added at a later stage as these weren't available as yet on the first sportpacks, they came out with a different style 17" as standard but most people spec'd 18" ellipsoids as can be seen on your car's spec.

There has always been that confusion between M-Sport and "Sport Pack". As far as I know, "Sport Pack" = all the "M" frilly bits and perhaps a lowered or "sports" suspension setting. M-Sport varients will have all the "M" frilly bits as well as M Sport suspension. Below is a partial grab of my 540's vin listing.

Then of course you get the "Individual" trim variants as well, which seems to have been another way to pretty much as the word implies, individualise your ride, hense the often interesting and rarer paint and interior options, along with the "Individual" sill livery etc...

On the issue of "M" boot badges, as far as I am aware, these are meant exclusively for cars that are blessed with Motorport engines under the hood. (May there have been SA Only exceptions?) Recently BMW announced a new M-range, where it will bring back such a thing as a "M"535i as in the days before M5 etc..

This is all as mentioned "as far as I know". Please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

Sorry to hear all this dude. M sport refers to the slightly more aggressive front bumper with a rear diffuser. There's some sideskirts too. Interior has the perforated steering and gear lever with m badges.

Forget all that . Some if the nicest custom jobs I've seen are on the SE type models. Yours is lowered already,so forget the front bumpers cos that alone would make it look like you've had a front end smash and put the wrong bumpers on.
Just look for some old school Kelleners and you're sorted IMO.

Hi man, Thanks, What is Kelleners

Hi man, Thanks, What is Kelleners, they did change the mag, the guy I bought it said he changed it to the second edition msport mag,

Okay its settled, its a sportspack, not an Msport,

Thanks everyone for the feedback, I really appreciate it, I dont know if I am disheartened or relieved, but you know what, its okay, I love my car, be it a sports pack or msport, BMW even standard is still the best car,

I am going to post another thread if thats whats its called today, about the seatbelt warning sound, if please read and see if you can help, my seatbelt warning sound started craoking and then just stopped working, I know someone people think its a blessing cause no more seat belt warning, but its a warning for door lights, service and all the warnings, I need it to work, any tips on how to fix it myself,

thanks again, love the site, you guys are awesome, sorry if any ladies you too, but BMW rocks,

Still an awesome car, I would really not feel bad.. Just buy the steering and gearknob.. Gearknob doesn't make much of a difference (looks cool), but love the steering wheel, that's the only single thing I like about the msport, the rest doesn't even bother me personally. But then again, what the Steering wheel costs.

Also, the mags you have on now, keep them, they look AWESOME IMHO

Kelleners is a tuner and they launched a wheel in the 90s which was a deep concave for the e36.
That was just an idea... I think the point I was making was invest your money in a very tidy and unique set if wheels ADV, HRE VOSSEN , that sort if thing

In 2005 there were only sport pack available, the m sport only came later
This.
And it consisted of the lowered suspension, sport seats, and I think the steering wheel too. Those rims were not released back in 05. They look great though and are original rims, so keep them.
Don't change only one bumper. That'll stick out more to those in the know.
