Re: Slow to pick up revs

Hi Guys,

I have a 2006 BMW 325i E90 with roughly 170 000km's on.

I am finding her very slow to act when i put my foot on the petrol. She feels very sluggish, and basically have to put my foot flat to get a reaction.

Anyone had the same issue or know any ideas of what could be causing this?

Thanks

You sure the car isnt in limp mode?

Thanks ChrisBrand,

How would i know that the car could possibly be in limp mode?

It is only slow to start and then picks up revs and then its as if it is normal

Thanks

Could it be lazy throttle adaptions? So if you were to reset throttle adaptions I wonder if it could help?

Might be best to have codes read to see if anything pops up.

If the cars starts slow but eventually picks up revs normally then it wont be limp mode.

Are you sure the car is in the right gear? *jk

I have been through this on mine. I was told its a problem on the pre lci 325i motors.
My car sat at 2 dealerships for 4 months.

They replaced Vanos, Cam sensor, Cam timing was done over 10 times it kept showing it was off. They replaced the Valvetronic Motor and a whole bunch of other stuff. Total bill on motor plan was over 100k.

Eventually the dealer gave up hope, they could not get approval from bmw to replace the motor. I was advised to trade it in. Which i did.

[align=justify]I had similar experience on my 2010 335i coupe and after the BMW dealer replacing everything except the engine itself I took it to an alternative BMW dealer and it turned out to be sludge build up in the engine, just a simple engine flush and car was like new. :smashScreen:

That's not good, I suggest halving the oil service intervals.

My 325i does the same thing, but its not that bad,i have found out that if below 2500rpm it will do that in 4th gear and above. I would like to think its just the car doesn't have enough torque below that rpm..You have to rev it.
