My heat broke a little this morning as I drove her onto the truck.

Good luck uncle Gertjie, thank you for the smooth deal.

Thank you sir, and likewise.

In other news, in order to do MSport conversion properly, it's more than just body kit. Gloss door trims, mirrors, then the little surprise of the intake cradle that has to change (which isn't available secondhand as not many cars came out with radar, which is mounted right on the cradle). Me and my clever ideas...

Then, my pusher buddy let me loose in his store room and I found a bunch of other cool bits (like LCI sport steering). I guess my budget was more of a wet dream than a hard and fast rule :roflol:

My sport pack conversion on the F01 was also way more interesting then anticipated, and it most def not a case of simply bolt on bolt off...

Keep us posted...

+1 I wish more people understood that as well.. It is much more than just slapping a bumper or 2 on the car!!

Going to be epic this!

Soooo, the guys started stripping with a vengeance. It hurts seeing a car like this, but at least were sure there's no hidden damage.

And I thought they were kidding when they said stripping the trim off is a serious job

But, something is already starting to look pretty. This is the replacement shell with all the original electronics fitted. Now they must strip the other light off to get it shiny like this as well :)

Some of the 'fluff' that wasn't in stock for the msport conversion. Not a joke hey...

That list of parts looks eye wateringly expensive.

In for a penny in for a pound I guess

You have no idea. I worked it out yesterday; the msport conversion added around R40k to the job. And that's with getting the big ticket items for a fraction price.

There was a member a few weeks ago that wanted to change a non msport f30 to msport and just about everybody told him that it would not make sense money wise, this just proves it,that is a massive list of parts.

So, a little bit of an update.

I've been umm'ing and aah'ing about doing a HUD retrofit. It so happened that I have a HUD for this car, and the windscreen needs to be replaced (HUD uses a special windscreen).

Problem is, I'll have to hack up the dash, or replace the dash. Neither of these options are appealing at the moment. So I decided to give it a rest for now. There's been another setback so I don't want to cause any further delays as I'm itching to get the car back. I'm seriously starting to get impatient now. :roflol:

As for the setback, well I alluded to this elsewhere, but it appears that the car have had previous 'maintenance spray' done. As far as I can see, none of it was bodywork, but previous scratches that were painted over. Issue is, the shade of the paint is not exactly right between the back of the car and the front. This wouldn't have been an issue had I not decided to do an MSport conversion, but now that I am it'll cause some mismatch between the new bumpers and the existing bodywork. After some deliberation it was decided to resprayed the whole car. Yes, not absolutely necessary but then again it'll be cheaper doing it now than later. And yes, now that I know it'll bug the shit out of me unless I get it over with. Wham, another 2 week delay to the project. Grrrrr!

While we wait for the backlog in the paint booth to clear up, all the front parts were fitted to check everything is there and fits properly.

All the old chrome trim has been either replaced or painted.

Mirrors and caps painted gloss black as well

Im hoping they can start prep on the rest of the car this week. That's gonna be a massive job. That budget thing I spoke of? Wooooosh...

Gertjie...

Stop being lazy, fit the flippen hud.

I even gave you the dash bevel...

I can pull a dash on an F01 in an hour and a half.... whats your excuse...

PS :

I am pretty sure I even have the harness for this... somewhere...

You saw what my garage looks like, so somewhere is "relative" but I am sure I do...
