Thx guys. Interesting that you say Road Trip. I did a Secunda trip today; I also had the alignment done at the BMW there. Because the car has rear steering as an option, it's impossible to align without the BMW setup to do so. Relief, as all the geometry is now spot on and in spec. They spent over an hour doing the job and I must admit it's pretty involved. I'll go this route in future, those guys really make sure it's perfect and don't simply skip through all the steps to get the bare essentials done.

This car was built for the open road. After a 250km round trip I still felt like I could do another 250km :=):

Car looks really good...get the LCI grilles will add something

For that, I need the LCI bumper. Yes, they almost look the same but they not, there's differences in the mounts behind the bumper as the grills have different attachment points. I was considering it, but the price of those LED fogs put me off.

I spent a little time on the interior this morning, steamcleaning most of it so far.

There's a fair amount of scuffing on the leather, so I'll be getting someone out this coming week to tackle those areas with leather dye.

Maps are updated and new key done

Just a little perspective from where it started

I'll be spending the next few weeks with little fixes to scuffed or worn items, the odd retrofit. I'll also be taking it for a DP, have the new tail pieces added and maybe do software after I had ZF check the gearbox out.

For now I'm just enjoying the car, it's turned out better than I dared hope :)

Car looks ace. Well done.

How does the steam cleaner work on the interior? I been scrubbing for ages trying to get rid of ingrained dirt on the plastics and leather and not really getting anywhere. What steam cleaner do you have?

Not much to it hey. I have some detergent that gets sprayed on the affected area, then use a cheapy steam cleaner with micro fiber cloth over the nozzle. I work the area carefully with a few passes and job done. Granted, it's still not perfect but I can live with the results. I get nervous with water based carpet cleaners so I wouldn't recommend those.

Anyway, the leather guy is coming over this Saturday to sort out the leather scuffing issues, I can't wait!
