car away from owner is abused very often I witnessed it this morning dropped off my wifes x3 for service at a dealer and a heard a f80 m3 coming in with akra pipes roaring , looked back and seen it was bmw tech behind the wheel and not the owner

as they say drive it like its stolen

Exactly the reason I specifically deny test drives when booking my car in for services etc.

I'm shocked to hear this, I've dealt with Pops over 15 years now and theyr quite fussy about their work, I'm also not the easiest of persons but they've always gave me top service and their works good. I'd like 2 hear powerpipes side 2 the story as there's no response from their side as yet:tiptoe:

They've replied on the original post and hadn't been able to justify their actions. Every comment just saw them talk themselves further into a corner.

Few people realise we have active tracking on our cars which give us all the telemetry info..

I know where my car is at all times when it's in for a service and how it gets driven.. To date my 335i has always been driven decently when in for a service. I won't let a local shop come within 100m of my car for anything, I'll do it myself thanks or stand right next to the car the whole time.

Flip that's a KAK one!! Don't know of the business but I bet if they forced to closedown they will just reopen somewhere else with a new name, but with the same attitude!!

I've also had bad luck with a dealership in the past, my GTi 5, was stolen from the washbay in Princes VW in Benoni in 2009.

Anyway hope you get it sorted and reimbursed!!

Also, Powerpipes has camera footage everywhere so even the conversation etc can be extracted. Sorry for this bad incident bud!

It's time to let people know who the dishonest thieving liars are in the motor industry.
Here's my story...

On Monday after I dropped my 2012 Mini Cooper S off at PowerPipes in JHB. I needed a down pipe made for a client with A Mini Cooper S who was in another province. I spoke to Hishaam Ish Powerpipes regarding the work that needed to be done. He said drop the car off we will take your one off and fabricate a new one. I agreed and dropped the car off. He said the down pipe would be be ready the following day (yesterday) as it needed to be polished. I said fine I will collect it as soon as it's ready, I couldn't make it yesterday so I collected the car this morning only to find out that Hishaam had taken my car on a bit of a joy ride and busted the clutch.

I get there and find my car stashed in one corner, he tells me yes he did take the car for a drive but he takes no responsibility for it breaking. Little does he know that my tracking system in the car shows exactly how hard the car was driven and where it was driven too. He quickly disappeared and left us standing looking at an immobile car.

He's dad comes to me telling me that won't take no responsibility for repairing that car even though he's son had taken it for a joy ride. He then starts swearing me telling me to F$&@# take my car and go. He asked me "why are you F$&@%# going on like a lighty just take your car and go as we take no responsibility for what happened!"

Suddenly he's dad also pulled a disappearing act on us. Hishaam then went to hide in the office for a bit not communicating at all.
Hishaam then says I should take the car back to BMW where it was serviced as they are to be blamed for the clutch, what bullshit is that ?! I brought u a running driving perfect car ...

I called roadside assistance waited around 2 hours for them to come through to take the car through to Mini Auto Bavaria in Midrand. As the tow truck came through Hishaam said "Make Me Maaf Brother" (Please Forgive Me) Why should I forgive you when u said you did nothing wrong? Not a drop of remorse came from them. The father and son rather ran away as they couldn't face us like men. Really disappointed.

After leaving with no Downpipe he calls me when I am halfway home saying I must let me know when he must send the down pipe for me, really ?! If you weren't guilty why did you run and not give me the Downpipe ?

The car is currently at Mini and I've been quoted R25 416 including labour to repair the damage.
The matter has been pursued legally and the relevant documentation will be delivered.
This is just a warning to never ever use a company that treats their clientele as utter pieces of trash. I do not recommend them, I do not endorse them and will never again in my life send them any clients whatsoever.

So at Power Pipes it's simple, leave your car we'll break it you pay for it !

Can you please tell me what tracking you have installed?

I'm quite interested.

I'm glad I read this before going over. Need to have my springs compressed on my 2002. Any other suggestions guys?
