Rant of the day -8ta incorrectly charging R400 admin fee - SORTED OUT

So in July I sign up for 2 new Cell contracts through 8ta, I received 2 HTC wildfire S on the Saver 1 which is R50 PM includes R50 airtime PM. so all is fine, the advert says "Free sim & Connection worth R200"..

So I sign up & nobody mentions the sim & connection to me, so I assume its free as stated in the advert..


So Yesterday I get my account & guess what?? R400 for sim & connection (R200 for each number), so I get on the Twitter & FB & get told I need to send in the advert for them to see, so now I dont have the advert anymore. so I Google hoping to get lucky & this morning I find a copy..

so I send it to them, I get a reply

Hi, please note that on this advert, it states that the SIM is Free but the Connection Fee is R200. We will wait for the email.

Sry m8 but half the time this is done on purpose. It is how bad things have gotten to the point where "False Advertising" is common place.

I was caught like this many moons a go and after a rant i told them to go get Fuck8ed. Had my contract cancelled no cost to me after 8 months.

Go to the shop and demand they fix the problem. Start showing customers in the shop how skelm they are. Print the advert

they need to refund you or false advertising, you got a copy.

It's like buying a car from the dealers. The finance is always for a couple grand more. Go to Inspec - a - car for instance. There is a price in the windshield. Don't think for one moment that you will get the car for that price; there are ALWAYS hidden costs.

andrew dont take this... keep hassling them till you get your money back i had an issue with SAA and i just kept on their case 6 months later i got my money back :rollsmile:

most often they give you the run around because you might go away...

I won't let it go, R400 is a big chunk to go towards my h&r springs.

I harrassed them on Twitter today until the answered, also hello peter, newspaper will be the next step.

It's like my wife, cancelled her business course like a year ago and only got the money back last week after harassing them almost daily

Andrew , I don't think there is one subscriber who has not been screwed by one of these companies .

My MTN 24 month contract for my daughters phone ended July , she did not want to upgrade so I converted to pay as you go ...so they bill for BIS.... but no BIS now on the phone .
R57.00 for this , now time and petrol not worth chasing them again ......Look at the cell providers profits each year....how much from sh&^%$ t like this ?
