good morning everyone

guys i got a serious issue with my E36
shes been parked since monday due to a tire being destroyed by some cr@p in the road.
tuesday afternoon all of a sudden my car started smoking from under/ in the engine bay. the car had been standing for more than 24 hours and no one was near it. i however wasnt at home my old man ran out and disconnected the battery.
it is electrical, battery off and it stopped smoking/ burning.
yesterday i reconnected the battery in the hopes that i could spot the burning but yet there was none, i also started the car, all lights, sound system, heater (blower hasnt worked for a while) but eberything seems to be working fine.
has anyone had this?
suggestions on 1st places to check?

Hmmm the E36 Engine bay consists of 2 harnesses one for the engine and the other for the lights and stuff. I suggest you remove both harnesses and reinsulate them in the correct cloth tape, I noticed that mine had a few wires that were almost worn to the insulation and may have been a potential fire hazard if not attended to. Good luck
