Radiator Replacement E90

My 2006 320I E90 had a pressure test today due to a coolant loss warning
The end result is a radiator replacement at a BMW garage at R8000 +
The km is 120,000. This is the first time I have ever had to replace a radiator over many vehicles, (not BMW's) One SW reaching 300,000km with no coolant problems!
Is cooling a common problem with BMW E90's?

I replaced my water pump and thermostat at 120 000km.

You sure you have to replace the whole thing and not just a leaking pipe or something?

Also did waterpump on mine at around 125k km but never ever a radiator.
Well to be honest never replaced one of those on any car for that matter.

They showed me photos of the radiator with pressure test. The leaks were there. Two years ago when my son still owned the car under motor plan they replaced the Engine. If they damaged the radiator the leak would have manifested itself earlier. As mentioned I have never replaced a radiator on all past vehicles. I live close to the sea in Cape Town maybe thats the reason but why only the BMW??

Whoa! Thats pricey. Recently did a Radiator on my E46 330i. No problems with leaks, but it was incredibly distorted. Better safe than sorry!
