Hi
Please assist !
The radiator in my e46 320i individual is leaking. the expansion tank was changed however this did not solve the problem. When i check the water level in the mornings - it is very low and i have to fill it up again. Is this normal? - the warning light does not come on all the pipes seem to be normal

After I replaced my expansion tank, I also had to replace the radiator. The radiator started leaking where the expansion tank connects to it.

...DO NOT wait for the engine to overheat before you sort it out...cooling system overhaul time?

Your engine will be caput if it overheats. Junk yard material.
Replace the radiator or any leaking components.

any idea how this is done?

Simple really, just buy new EVERYTHING :fencelook:
If you don't know when the last time (or mileage) one of the components was replaced it is better to be cautious. The list is radiator hoses, expansion tank (water bottle), radiator cap, thermostat, waterpump, viscous fan,and maybe even the radiator in your case.Have someone check it out for you :)

Sunil,
If they changed your expansion tank and radiator, they had to take the expansion tank carrier out. These are prones to breaking or cracking. Check this out. Happened to my E46 as well. Was a hirline crack on the carrier. Hope this helps a bit bud.
