Hi guys..hope someone can help me out..whenever my wife puts the heater on in the car and drives to work everything seems fine but as soon as she switches the car off the radiator light goes on and once inspected only to find the water level is still full...
Also the carpet on the driver's side keeps getting wet and a friend told her that it's the aircon pipe or heater pipe leaking into the car???? Could this be the problem of all this??
I'm not home now and wifey is panicking so any input would be welcomed:thumbs:
Will make me look like the hero:pimp:
Thanx guys

Coolant piping and or heater core leak...

Is she loosing any water at all ?

The radiator light works off of a sensor located at the bottom of the expansion tank, maybe it has one on the heater core that I dont know about, but dont think so...

Anyway, water in the car is either heater core, or window washers are leaking, and its two unrelated issues, but I highly doubt this....

That's the weird part..she doesn't lose any water at all..never thought of the window washers though:fishwack:
I'll have to check it when i get home..

Also now the car dont start in the rain but once pushed then it starts immediately:confused:
But parked out of the rain it start's first time????
Think it's maybe time to trade:argh:

well those are your only two water sources....

Question though, have you tried washing the car and checking

I have had it that incorrectly fitted windscreens could also cause floor puddles.

I would not trade just yet, these all sound like minor issues, unless it is the heater core, cause then ur life is going to suck....

But have it diagnosed first...

well...

tell her to taste it, not drink it but just put a drop on her tounge.

Antifreeze is sweet, window washer fluid is soapy....

if its sweet, and its inside the car, you have problems...

Although this is not a definative test, but it may confirm some things..

ANtifreeze is not good for you though, in fact its poisoness..

But a drop on the tounge wont kill anyone...

Well you should be able to smell it immediately if it is coolant, as it has a very characteristic smell, something like a combination of wet rubber and alcohol breath. Also if it leaves white spots when it dries then then you now it is coolant. Seeing as the car is not loosing water I would say it is safe to say it is not heater core leak.

The coolant level light coming on might just mean that the coolant lever sensor is kaput.

are you sure she is not mistaking the radiator light for the window washer light?

i dont really see how the the washer fluid can end up in the cabin unless the windscreen is leaking...

Not really sure buddy but i'll have to wait and see myself when i get home this week..
I told her to just keep checking the radiator level and keep an eye on the heat gauge to be safe till i get home:thumbs:
