R53 Cooper s Stripping for spares

I went to see the Cooper S being stripped.

The front's been smacked hard and airbags popped:yuck:.

Pepper White with sunroof. about 160 000kms

I'm gonna help the guy sell off bits of the car-
And no, I'm not ripping him off, adding bucks for myself, and reselling.-
In return for me helping him he'll give me the branch & exhaust and most of the other modded parts at a good amount.

(and i get to learn a bit by tinkering on a vehicle oter than my own)
He just wants to get a few rand from out the car before it gets thrown away as scrap.

SO- I just brainstormed a few things that might be of value to guys with maybe a damaged interior piece, or worn out something or what have you.

-Aerial (i've seen a few broken ones on cars-this one's good)
-Bonnet and or boot lifters
-I'll check if it's a newish clutch
-Maybe have this flywheel lightened?(i know someone who did it to a Pug's)
-Window winder mechanisms
-Power steering pump i believe was recently refurbed / redone
-Window wipers (i saw one that was from the coast and rusted)
-Any of those plastics around the edges of the car (oviously the fronts of this are fooked)
- full rear bumper
-front right headlight
-doors
-side mirrors in pepper white (i THINK they were un scratched)
-17" wheels with 75% non runflats
-mats?
- the carpet
-2004-2007 Tail lights
- dunno if someone would want ti put the shorter ratio gearbox from the 2004 into a pre 2004?
- pepper white wing
-all the cooper S badging and side indicators with badging
-the intercooler and intake manifold are bust, i cant see the rest, Maybe take the head and have work done to it? Sub assembly? or whole motor
-starter
-altenator
-Sunroof (i'm sure a body shop can fit it?)
-all interior bits- anything that might be scratched on your car you'd like to replace? gear boot and handbrake boot etc.
-speakers, Radio
-ECU
-Fuel pump
-water bottle cap
-rear view mirror
-keys
-window washer motor and bottle might be a cool intercooler spray DIY?
-any sensors? temp, speedo, etc
-plastics in the pillars?
- can the outside of the pillars be removed?
-ENGINE & gearbox mounts (COOL DIY to fill with urethane)
-pedals
-gear lever (shorten this one ant try as a short shifter)
-worn linkages?
-any radiator hoses leaking on your guys' cars?
-Brake calipers - (have these done in red and keep ur originals)
-brake upgrade for a cooper?
-window chrome strips seem in good cond
- petrol cap

I just thought of stuff that might start ya'll thinking- hopefully i can get some bits off the car soon and get pics up etc.

Contact me if there's anything you'd like to know about 0829230030 or PM

and he's a very reasonable guy - not trying to make big money. just a few bucksfor a few bits

I hope this works out and i'm not just pissing into the wind. Shot:ty:

Is this the one in PTA ?
Dunno if there are parts compatible with the R55/R56, but if you can post up some pics it will be good

Which 17's are those?

Guys I can tell you that all the parts are good as mentioned as this was my old car.

Pepper white one yes, with the standard 17" wheels.

And it has got a headlight wash bottle that I installed as an intercooler water spray bottle with Honda jazz windscreen washer jets in the IC intake as they mist water.

Thanks, ah its Willy's old ride. :sorry: @ Willy.

Was hoping for a spare set of wheels, but not a fan of those.

JA I know, they are heavy but suited the car, I was after a set of those mini splits but alas, so many things I wanted to do to the car but never got around to doing.

I have those
When I was looking to buy, I specifically looked at examples with those on.

Next year will look at the likes of Rota.

:fencelook: thought they were the better quality reps.
Thanks, will give them a miss.

Can't justify the price of the originals., not with SA roads.

Tomorrow there are two "mechanics helpers" (suppose you can call them that) who are going to strip the car down totally- and i'll get pics of all the parts and post it all up here. How difficult will it be to take the sunroof and put it into a car without a sunroof?

No go on the sunroof, they are heavy. The whole roof structure is different.

Take care with my old girl. Hopefully she will live on in your guys cars. See her as a organ donor.

Are you serious??? So the roof is all reinforced etc?!?! Aaaaaaawe crap. One would need to remove the roof and literally swap roofs with the sunroof installed... Or reinforce it all.... Meh... PITA.
