Questions on DP for 320d

Hey all,

So I am wanting to remove my DPF as my car has a bit of mileage under her and I believe it can put strain on the Turbo over time as it gets blocked.

The question is, what size DP is recommended for a 320d? Mine is a 2010 model, it has the N47n engine if it makes any difference.
Is 63mm alright or is 76mm preferable? Also is it highly recommended to go with stainless steel or will mild steel suffice on a diesel?
Not looking to go crazy with mods, will be sticking to the stock turbo and such but the additional power from removing the DPF and doing software will be appreciated.

I will then likely follow up the removal of the DP with software, looking at having it done by Madness Motorsport and for extra peace of mind, possibly have the EGR blocked off once it has been turned off via software.

One last thing, if I were to do the DP first would it be a problem if I were to drive it around without software being done to adjust for the removal of the DPF? Could it lead to any issues? Excess fuel consumption? The car giving me error codes etc?

Should give any errors if a CatFooler is used.
Definately do it..
not needed on these models.

I ran just a DP for about 6 months with no SW, no issues, expect +- 0.5l/100kms increase in fuel consumption  :hammerhead:

And night and day difference once I had SW done...with a "mild" file  :fencelook:

As mentioned above, you wont need a mini cat, wont need to have software straight away.
You can drive it like that for the time being until you do the software, but for the full effect then software is recommended.

Thanks guys, what is typically done in terms of dp size (63mm or 76mm).

Then is stainless steel 100% the way to go or could one consider a mild steel DP?
