Mod Update:

I got my 100mm downpipe installed at Swirlflow Customs, very happy with results. Its a different car 3000RPM+. The cold start noise is insane.

Also got them to build me a charge pipe. Using silicone on both ends with clamps. Pushed her hard over the last 2 weeks, no problems. This mod is purely for peace of mind.

Also got a K&N flat panel. Can definitely hear much more turbo spool. I'ts got me driving with the windows down all the time! Can't tell if it made any performance difference though. I do believe it will be beneficial once the JB4 comes into play.

Nice mods. Post a vid with exhaust sound after DP was fitted bud.
How much was the charge pipe if you don't mind me asking?

Wait till the downpipe opens up it will crackle and overrun like crazy, most of the time i play to throttle just to hear the sound. Also got the same filter it works wonders even though its a small difference but well worth the money just for the turbo spool! Not sure how much performance it adds though

Congrats on the car

Thanks guys! Much appreciated. :ty:

@M135i
Don't really have pricing on the charge pipe as it was done as a favour.

At the wheels bud. Only fill up at BP. 95. (Ebucks )
Apparently in line with other M135's they've dyno'd.

So I fit a JB4 PWG Posi-Tap version this afternoon. Easier than I though. Updated firmware via Laptop and set to MAP 2. Honestly, I'm underwhelmed. Took it for a quick drive on they highway and must say I didn't feel much of a difference. :disapointed:

I've got no errors and I can switch maps via volume buttons so I assume my installation was correct.

Unfortunately by laptop battery is knackered so I can't pull logs while driving, will have to make a plan this week.

What sort of figures can I expect from DP, Drop in and Map 2?

I had the exact same experience when I fitted my JB. Give it a day or two.

Thanks! :praise: Will do. I really hope it adapts. I still have a Devils Own meth kit I wasn't planning on using. The slight disappointment tonight however is making me reconsider. Will need to get the meth FSB though.

Will you be putting her on the dyno to see what map 2 produces ? Generally the run big number with high octane fuel

Stay away from the DO controller. If you want, take it to Brandon from DO parts and he will buy it back from you.

DO's pumps can become faulty and tricker it to empty the meth tank while the car is off. there is a loooooong thread on GTI forum of this happening recently and motor hydrolocking.

please read up before you install...

Sound's hectic. :fencelook:

I've used the pump for quite awhile in my GTI without problems. There's also an additional wire you can ground while the car is off to run and drain the system. From what you're saying it sounds like that wire made contact somewhere. :RedNo:

Sorry but there is absolutely nothing wrong with DO products or pumps.

If any application is installed incorrectly it will lead to issues. I have used DO with great success.

Do pumps are good. I was using the pump on my car.
The controller if generally the weak point. There have been reports of the controller shorting and causing the pump to turn on and empty the tank.
This generally not the norm but it has happened.
There are guys on this forum who have used the controllers with great success.

UPDATE:

So I've upgraded my JB4 to the OBDII port version (bit of DIY), updated the firmware, and now have full CAN and Flap controls which is awesome.

Bought a tablet which I retrofitted, looks stock, which I use for map switching and logging. Will post pics a bit later.

I got my hands on some E95 ethanol. First tank I ran 10L E95 and filled to first click with ULP 95. (Tank capacity is reported as 52L) Switched to map 5 for most of the tank. Target PSI was lower than map 2 in most cases, so I wasn't too impressed. It may be due to the crazy hot weather in PTA.

I've now filled up with a 15L E95 mix, hoping for some better results.

What mixes do you guys recommend for bolt ons and JB4 on a N55 PWG?
