Hi guys, I was wondering if there's anywhere in SA that I can get a ProTool compatible adapter. From the BimmerGeeks website the whole package is coming to around R5.4K that's including the One BimmerGeeks ProTool Master License voucher, One BimmerGeeks Expert K+DCAN Cable w/ LifeTime Warranty, One BimmerGeeks Bluetooth Adapter w/ LifeTime Warranty, One Android OTG Adapter.

If I can get the adapter locally I'd just have to purchase the software.

Yea VagCafe is stupid priced, he obviously thinks people dont know how to use google. lol.

Go to ML Performance, i have used them multiple times for a few things, and their prices are decent:

they half the price of VagCafe, granted shipping and Taxes are excluded, but wont be much

Edit: depending on your wait time, and taxes, it may be better to buy local actually:

Yeah, plus customs on top of that total.. I think I'll just have to bite the bullet and get it from vag.

is that MHD unit powered?

I see there is a big difference between what the average bluetooth adapter can do and the powered adaptors, I also need to return my current unit and upgrade to get more functionality.
There is a lot of options on Takealot actually

I'm assuming it is, since it's compatible with the Protool software. Yes there's a few on takealot, but not for BMW, the one I came across was the Launch ThinkDiag for around 3.2k, but that requires a subscription with Launch, though it is a lot more versatile, since it supports a lot of other vehicles and not just BMW.

I also have Bimmercode and Bimmerlink, I use a Veepeek obd2 adapter with those, whilst they are great for coding and diagnostic they don't offer everything Protool has, such as frm short circuit counter reset, which is what I need it for.

I use a cable. Works just fine. Unless of cos you are running logs while driving then cable is not necessary.
