No upgrades for:
HPFP
Water pump
Injectors...buy latest index 12

But the latest versions dont easily give problems.

There are MANY performance upgrades for the N54 that are obviously better than OEM but its gonna cost you a few pennies. So live with the Oem parts as long as you can and upgrade as you go along. If you have funds to burn then the following upgrades are a must:

Chargepipe
Intercooler
Intake
Oil Catch Can/Pcv valve
Oil cooler thermostat
Catless downpipe
Inlets
Diverter valves

Maintenance repairs to consider:
Valve cover gasket
Oil housing gaskets
Pcv valve
Vacuum lines
Turbo wastegates
Boost solenoids
Oil pressure & coolant temp sensors
Water pump/thermo
Low pressure fuel pump sensor

Thats still a small list

With all the concerns around the car, I have owned a N54 E92 DCT Msport for 2.5 years and have not had any issues. Currently 100 000 kms. Been out of Motorplan for nearly 2 years and have had oil changed regularly(+-10K kms). Taken to BMW at least once a year. Been an absolute blast even though stock.

Doing research will scare you but when you get behind the wheel you will soon forget all that you read.
Only gripe is the practicality factor and the rear tyres. The tyres definitely dont last.

Good Luckhttps://www.bmwfanatics.co.za/images/smilies/Top24/thumbs.gif

And Turbos, not a question of if but more when they will go, especially the back one close to the Firewall.

Pros: Nothing beats that Straight 6 Turbo sound, none of that 4cyl Vrrpaa nonsense :fencelook:

Cons: Fuel Fuel and more Fuel to power that glorious engine
