Hello.. I need assistance please, I bought a 2005 Bmw X3 2.0d Manual. The prev owner had disconnected/removed the propshaft and made the car a 4x2 however the car is now leaking propshaft oil. The car went in and a seal was put in order to stop the leak. New oil was filled in aswell but now it is leaking even more oil. The service centre says i need to replace the propshaft but that will make the car a 4x4 again which i dont want. Then he said something about a transfer case that should be replaced . quoted something between R15000 and R20000 . Is there any way I can leave the car the way it is and let all the new oil drip out and just carry on driving or will be dangerous ? will I be damaging the car if I carry on driving and not spend all that money. Please advise I am totally lost and need the car on the road ASAP
