Problem with Xenon light on BMW E60

Hey guys...

Dunno if anyone experienced anything similiar. My one xenon light stops working every now and then. The first time this started happening, it would work for around and hour and switch off. Leave the light switch in an off position for a bit and it would work again when turning it on. I decided to replace the D1S bulb as there also appears to be some sort of electronics in the base of the bulb. This worked for at least 4 months perfectly until it bombed out again. I assumed that I purchased a bad bulb and we all know that there is no guarantee on bulbs so I decided to purchase another one. This only went on for about 2-3 weeks before giving me crap again. I don't know how to troubleshoot this one cos trial and error is certainly not cost effective. I am suspecting the ignitor but this is like R4k from the agents which is nuts!!!

Any ideas out there?

Wanted to do that the first time I had the problem, but I struggled to get the left headlamp out so I got gatvol and purchased the bulb :argh:

I dunno why it was such a sukkel as it should be the same on both sides.

I had the exact same problem on my MINI,

BMW changed out the entire light assembly, it then worked fine.

I have adaptive lights too so I dont think it is going to be cheap. My car is also no longer in m/plan
