F30 320d R463K like wtf , sportline, Sunroof n Xenon's n 18s Auto

crazy pricing n no discounts... :thumbdo:

Not so Crazy. :fencelook:

My 2011 e90 320d M Sport, Auto, Sunroof, 17s and no xenons was priced at R 237 K

There was one available with the 18s and xenons and and a few other xtras but not the colour I wanted priced at R 267 k

Obviously there were discounts available then. If you want an F30 NOW then you wont get a discount. Dealers know they will still get sales from those that must have the latest model first. The price of being cutting edge. :roflol:

I will wait another 1 - 1.5 years and then trade against a F30. Will then get Trade Assist and discounts. :joy:

Just general browsing the gum over the last few months I have noticed a few good E90 bargains but, I think give it a good few months to a year and we'll see a difference.

Well said :roflol:

Also won't people be abit skeptical when buying a new model ? possible things that could go wrong/minor glitches ? yes MP will cover it but the inconvenience of taking it up & down to the dealer ?

The F30 high pricing will help E90 resale values. History has show That whenever facelift or new models are released with pricing too close the the older model resale of the older model drops dramatically eg) Audi a4, the converse should therefore hold true as well. Another thing the high prices create is opportunity for pseudo large discounting. Give it a few months or a year and the usual finance assistance packages will be back along with other interest rate deals. It seems BMW is going the route of the frenchies with regards to pricing strategy.Let's hope it does not back fire. Come august when the sport is out you will pay approximately R420k for a 320i m-sport with upgraded wheels xenons, sunroof and PDC. Add 25k more if you want satnav. BMW is going to force BMW inclined drivers to seriously consider merc and Audi with these prices.

Been monitoring prices on E60's and well spec'ced 530ds seem to be holding their value very well despite how good the new F10 is, so I think a similar trend will happen with E90's. Certain models, especially with the M sport packs will keep their value (with normal depreciation of course), but I don't foresee a major drop in price just because the F30 is now out.

Obviously cars with around 100K KM on the clock will drop, but that's normal for most BMW's ...

Also, up until now the E46 represented the best value for money 3er - not too old, but still only 1 generation behind. Over the next year or so, this trend will move to the E90, as they sold very, very well, so it would make a very good 2nd hand buy as there would be so much choice, spares, etc. However, this would probably ensure that prices on certain models will remain at decent levels - similar to buying a clean E46 325i/330i today ...

was also offered a R60 000 discount on the e90 lci 2012 model today, but was adviced that the resale value will drop very soon and that if i wanted to trade in 3 to 4 years time will most probably have to pay in.

the sales person recons it would be better then to buy it and keep it
