Hi Guys

Has anyone purchased a set of front brake discs for their 323i or 325i E90. Need to know prices. Will be calling around, but if anyone has picked up a set at a very good price, please let me know.

Brands i'm looking at are ATE or Ferodo.

Thanks guys

You could try Star brake and clutch in Edenvale, they do the EBC discs and pads as well as a few other makes..

The price the dealer puts on the invoice in mp is less then the price they charge you out of mp. I found that out with a clutch replacement.

And lets be real. R500 for a front disk? BMW will never charge you that price when you go there out of MP.

Just phoned the guys at JSN. They say the front discs are R980 excl VAT.

Herr's invoice said less then R500 under MP.

Will call my dad at BMW SMG lets see what he says.

Anyway called Midas and Autozone they have disc's from R450 to R700 each.

They were all pushing a brand called Alfa. Any comments on this brand.

Called BMW and they have the disc's for R980. I asked the guys if they are using the ATE systems. He said no they original BMW, he didnt want to give anything away. I dont think he knows that the brake fluid reservoir cap on the car has ATE logos all over it. lol

Will call make a few calls in Durbs as well.

My e39 is running 324 x 30mm Alpha international discs. Cannot find anything wrong with them. Also had them on my previous car.

Have you tried looking at Bilstein break pads? I replaced my OEM set with them and havn't had any issues, they are as good if not better than OEM.

E39 pricing though, so probably useless - I picked mine up from Master Parts for R350. Stealers wanted R2k or something ridiculous. Out of MP.

Before I got the. E60 I bought front and rear pads. From the bmw as midas and autozone had no stock. They both told me the only pirate part was safeline. At. R800 odd a set I ended up buying from the dealers at R1200 front and R1300 for the back for original bmw pads made in germany. They were bmw pads not ate or any other
For the sake of hundred rand I would rather get the bmw pads .
I can't say the same for the rft's on my e60 when they are worn they are gone I'm not paying for 245/40/18s

+1 Exactly! Rather spend the few hundred bucks extra and get OEM than some dodgy safeline pads!

Dude brakes is a safety critical item. Don't go cheap on safety. Go to the stealers, a fee hundred bucks more won't kill you, a few hundred bucks less might!

wow R500 a disk at stealers is cheap.
Paid on my e36 m3 R3600 for both front disks and 1200 for the pads at dealers.. but id rather OEM, cant take risks on brakes...
