Pre Vanos misfiring on no6

Need help urgently: my e36 320 pre vanos is misfiring on no 6 . have replaced plug and coil packs. Now looking at wiping off head to check valves. Does anyone have any other info that might help,really don't want to get rid of car but getting to the point.

Do a compression test.

If 6 reports lower than the rest do teh following.

Pour very little oil in the combustion chamber.
If compression increases blown rings if compression stays the same blown head.

Thanks did test no low compression on no 6 valve burnt . Whipping head off tomorrow.

Had the same problem on my e36 325i. Ended up being a water damaged dme. Cylinder 3 was not firing.
