I'd like to commend Talon (335stepitup) on the excellent and efficient work done on my 325i this past week.
Since I purchased my car, I've had issues with it misfiring and losing power. Having taking it to another mechanic 3 times, the intake vanos was replaced and my car was also decatted. None of these fixes resolved my issue and I was getting fed up with spending money that didn't stop the misfiring.
After seeing wikked's post regarding Super Street Autoworx, I decided to get in touch with Talon and bring the car in.
I brought the car in on Monday, March 1st, and heard back from Talon on Wednesday stating that the misfiring was due to loose/damaged connectors on Cyl 5 & 1 injector harness as well as Cyl 6 ignition coil harness. After the connectors, injector harness and ignition coil harnesses were tightened and replaced, we went ahead and replaced my spark plugs as well.
He also noticed that my DISA 1 flap had broken off and was sitting inside my intake manifold. This broken flap was causing minor misfires at low RPM, so we'll be replacing both DISA units next month.
After picking the car up on Friday, March 6th, I could instantly feel an increase in performance. The misfires are gone (except at the low RPM due to my DISA 1 flap), and the car is pulling much better.
I can't recommend Super Street Autoworx and Carbon Doctor enough for the transparency, efficiency, and pride of work shown. I think I've definitely found my new mechanic here in Cape Town.
