Hi 1 Fanatics:praise:

I am thinking of installing a Powerflow back box on my 1 series.
I have checked out a diagram of the 116i's exhaust layout and it seems that the car shouldnt be that loud or make so much noise as the car has a huge CAT and another smaller silencer.

1. Do you guys think this is wise?
2.Should i leave it as is?
3.Not expecting power gains, just merly to give a little sound.

Thanks
Jarryd

great,thanks man
Il keep you guys posted

i hope there wont be a drone at like 120/130km/h?

Quick fix to more sound is to remove the ribbed section of the induction between the intake and the airbox.

I can't see that there will be any harm caused to the motor, as you not removing the filter from the system, but merely just disrupting airflow and not getting as much cold air into the motor as you would with the induction closed.

Ok cool thanks guys
I dont want to really Tune my car with a decat cause its not a performance car.
Ive had my day with a performance car and it becomes problems

So do you guys think my car shouldnt have a back freeflow box?

The bmw engineers made a system with compromises in mind , power , fuel economy , noise etc .

I would do a decat , chip and a smaller back box . With the three done you will get a louder sound but the chip will give you better throttle response and fuel economy should improve . Do decat and exhaust then visit Promotec .

if you change the back box only you will get minimal performance gain but noise will go up alot... you will end up with a car that makes noise but goes nowhere :yuck:
