On uber's recommendation, I went with the Shell Donax TX
Castrol LHM will also do the job.

Uber's yard, he had some spare.
Most spares should have it though, its a pretty common oil, and will work in the gearbox's as well, if not, phone SHell head office, and get the number for a distributor.
However, extreme caution here, do your own homework, this is suitable for the E34, its prob. the same as for your E36M, but just double check the stats.
