I bought a 316 bmw in 2013 brand new. In 2015 when I was cleaning the windscreen there was no water coming out and I reported the matter at South East Auto. I had to bring the car back to them 3 times before it was sorted. (could not get water because of a loose hose pipe which was picked up by myself and the person who was giving me the car and we just used cable tire, even today it's fine).
In the same year I realised a leak underneath the car which I was not sure if it was water or oil and I reported it. They suspected it might be a coolant leak and they advised me to book the car. They pressurised the coolant system and they could not find the leak. The leak continued, I reported again. Their focus was in the coolant leak (some other parts were changed). The leak reoccured in 2016, when I was taking the car back to South East Auto I was told South East Auto was closed. I then took the car to Auto Alphina in Boksburg where they said the radiator needed to be changed and they changed it.
In February 2017, on my way to work I got a driven train alarm. I reported and booked my car for a 100000km service which was almost due. From the service I was told the drivetrain was sorted. 3 days later I got the same alarm and I got stuck in the mall. I was told by the emergency personnel that it is because of the wifi, which I argued. I was told how to start the car and I did and I got it started however I drove about 4kms and got stuck with the same problem fortunately in front of my gate. In the morning when I was taking the car to bmw I got stuck in about 2kms from my house and it was towed to bmw. It turned out to be a fuel pump. In less than a month again I got the same alarm and I immediately took the car to bmw and they said its a solenoid. In about a month or so again I realised there was a leak in my garage in the same spot as previous. I reported and requested a full report which I did not receive, the only thing I got was that now they found that is not water is oil in the sump and that they did not work on it and I will have to pay because the car is now out of warranty.Even when I send them emails of my communication that clearly state that the coolant idea was coming from bmw they dont understand.
Now on sunday the 11/06/2017 again I got the same alarm "drive train". I reported it and I'm told to book it and I'm told I will be liable for the diagnosis should it not be what they replaced last time(which I know they will say is not what they worked on). Is that how bmw operates. Is this how bmw treat their customers? Is it difficult for bmw to investigate the root cause of the problem? Please advise
