A man has been killed and two others have been badly injured after all three men were ejected from the vehicle as it rolled on the N12 at the Petroport outside of Witbank. Thanks to our Witbank team who attended!

+10000k on this.

I recently had an accident on the mine I work at. 5 people in double cab that rolled. 4 people with injuries ranging from head trauma, through major pelvis breaks and broken limbs. The driver, who was wearing his seat belt... cut his thumb. Don't even move you vehicle without making sure yourself and passengers are buckled up.

No brainer

The very first thing I do before I even put my ignition on is out my safety belt on.

Only wish I was this pedantic when I sit in the back, however this (and so should any accident) is an eye opener.

Thanks for the post.

e90 wont allow me not to wear it, same with the wifes i20 whivh has an even more annoying buzzer.
so its become a habit for me to a point where I feel naked in a car without it.

plus I have also had accidents with and without a safety belt...without hurt a LOT more.

I attend to accident scenes on a daily basis, not wearing your ssafetybelt as well as transporting passengers in your car, especially rear seated passengers, is blatant stupidity!

It is an absolute requirement when travelling on SA roads.

Sad for the people involved. Seat-belts really worked, I rolled my 735i 3 times and only got a bump on the head. both passengers also had their belts on were not injured

I'm so used to wearing my seat belt that it feels funny if I don't fit it. Some car's seat belts are really badly located, but I will fit it regardless. Even if I have to grab it while getting in 'cos you can't reach it when in the seat. Those 3 door Pajero's is one such car.

I'm the same. I feel awkward in the car without it.

Besides. a Seatbelt has saved my life once before. So I always wear it.

Then you get people like my parents that puts in the lil buckle so that the seatbelt alarm dont go off. :nonono:

My boys are 4 and they know that I aint going no-ware if everyone is not buckled up.... There has not been a day were they were in my car not buckled up. I suppose its how aware people are taking into regards that there are so many people out there living on the sentence "it wont happen to me"
