Hi Guys
Wonder if you can help me with a current problem im experiencing.
Got a yellow steering lock warning sign for the first time last week. The car was able to start and i could drive it but none of the buttons on my steering worked and my wipers stayd on and there was no way that i could switch it off. My indicators also worked but i had to manually turn them off as it seems the car doesnt get any feedback from the steering.
CCID code i get is 42
Warning lights that are on is:
Checked all fuses as i thought it could have been a short or something but all ok.
The problem went for a couple days and then returned only to go away again and then return today.
Bmw says its the active steering sensor which they need to recalibrate and if that doesnt work replace. Also read on some forums that it could be the steering comn that needs replacement. And even forums saying to take the steering apart and just clean the active steering IR led.
If you have experienced the same situation or know what it coud be your feedback would be appreciated.

- ABS
- Tyre init
- DTC
- Brake
- ABS as the main error
