Hi Guys,

Picked up my new car 335i e93 LCI.

Car has extremely low mileage (34000kms) but i want to do preventative maintenance before anything.

Any advice from the other N55 guys, thanks so much.

Congrats on the ride, post some pics.
Car has very low mileage i dont think many things can go wrong at that stage, maybe just check the water pump and charge pipe...

Howsit!

Congrats on the car firstly especially with such low mileage and e93 too!

N55 with that low mileage would appreciate the following:
1. Oil Change with added CeraTec
2. Brake fluid or rather full fluid flush and tops ups.
3. Check heater, vacuum and cooling lines.
4. Check boost pipes and seals (intercooler, intake, oil cooler...) - sweats or minor leaks.
5. Check gaskets (Oil Filter Housing, Tappet Cover, Sump gaskets, Main seals - common big ticket items but with oil leaks can start with brittle gaskets and low usage).
6. You can do a gearbox diagnosis just for sanity but I think (from limited knowledge) it should still be all good.
7. Check shocks and mounts for any leaks or sweats.

Thats at the top of my head for now, your car should be fine on many items but what i learnt with these motors is just checking these often enough can help cause they give you signs early that something is not totally happy lol.

I would start with the gaskets around the oil filter housing.

Charge pipe also a weak point.

Thanks so much for the replies guys. I really appreciate the time you've taken.

I did take the car to BMW Midrand today. The dealer i bought the car from said they would help fix the small cubby and a door panel clip. (R3500 later).
I did ask the to check the engine fully and they came back saying they did pick up a small oil leak.

Will include the quote from them, not sure if the dealer is going to pay for this.

Hey bud,

The dealer should fit the cost of the repair bill for the oil leak, the car should not have a clean bill of health meaning that also this should have been checked before sale. You can send this to them and advise them that they need to get this sorted out.

Did you get your car within this week? The CPA protects you in items like this as well...its a high amount for the repair bill....you just bought the car from them trusting a clean bill of health and this shows that it was not.

Hopefully it was from an RMI dealer and they would see this as in good faith and fit the bill. When I bought mine from a non-BMW dealer but RMI approved....they did say they are willing to sort any issues out within the first 6 months...I must just provide them with the diagnostic report/s and they will discuss on how to proceed.

Amazing thank you, the dealer is CMH Jaguar/Volvo?Landrover in Cape Town. Really nice dealer.
I bought the car last week Saturday, so its only been like 5 days. I hope they pay for it. Will find out today.
Appreciate the advice and help from everyone.

I am really grateful to BMW Fanatics SA, the info we contribute here is very valuable.
Thanks

Charge pipe is also on its way out, found out this morning.
Dealer has agreed to pay.

I guess it is great news for me, all new parts:)

Quote is 21k, it has been sent to them. Lets see if they actually pay.

Great stuff man!

If they agree to the rest etc. remember to also do a thread on their commitment and service, as much as we always post about negatives...we need to post about the positives also.

Shot bud!
