DO NOT USE THE CAR...

even if its a faulty sensor its not worth the risk your engine will die if it does not have enough oil...

Hi thanks for your response , I recently fill oil last month , I checked the oil level is OK , it is just that the light is coming in red only under the service info tab . While driving I get no warnings:fencelook:

What car is this? Check the oil level if there is a dipstick! But otherwise agree with Moranor!!

ok dont know the e90 warning lights... could just be telling you service is overdue... but low oil pressure would be really bad... maybe someone who knows the e90 better can comment :)

The problem is that with the electronic dipstick you are at the mercy of technology to verify the oil level. Best to have the car checked out and diagnostics done to see if any faults come up.

Can't recall, but seem to remember when mine was due for service it just had a message saying "service". Even when the oil level was low the last time it just showed an exclamation mark, and then checking the error it shows that it is asking for oil. These engines are known to use some oil, varies from car to car though - mine has improved since I got it.

Yep, also the software is different from my '05 model to the '08 model I would think, so best to ask the agents!

Edit: Moranor has 11000 posts!! :praise:

Does the service ligth come on red when you switch the car on and then goes away?

If so then your oil service is way over due.

start the car and check the service info on the on board computer, it should show red for the over due oil service.

Should be fine to drive i reckon... my boss went around 5k over a service and the car was fine...

But on the other hand not good to be late for a service a car under MP :nonono: Depending on the dealer they might not love you very much...

You can still drive the car as long as the oil level is fine. But send your car in for the service

its overdue for the service by far, better take it in to get done ASAP, some dealerships would be sticky for the sake of your motorplan coming to an end soon bud

@ Azz KikR , Yeah I just did that , but I booked my car in , and they gave me a date next wednesday , but I gave my Km's to them just before the service was due , so I will say , bookings was full , and had to use the car
