Please help Guys E46 cluster warning lights

Hi Guys can someone please help

These 3 yellow lights all came on at the same time, if im not mistaken it came on when I was going from no tar to a tar road on the highway so I don't know if its because of that?

any ideas as to what is wrong? I turned the car off and started it again then the lights went away?

I would suspect a faulty wheel speed sensor or it came loose, when I put my E46 on the Dyno all 3 of those lights appeared but reset after driving for a few min. why this happens is because the rear tyres are moving but the fronts aren’t, so the computer thinks something is wrong. Quickest option is to get a diagnostic done tho and you will find the fault

TC Light in middle of Clusters along with Parkbrake lights means DSC is turned off fully,
The exclamation mark on far right is your Tire Pressure Monitor

And the Green is the CC

I also thought it would be wheel speed sensor but I googled and most people said it would just be the 2 that would pop up

that's correct thanx Divio, but the problem is that they all came on at the same time and tyre pressure is fine, and I didnt press the button to turn the traction off

wheel sensor will normally bring up:
hand brake, DTC and 'Brake' lights

this is something else...

Hey Buddy,

I had this issue on my previous E46.
Best to have the system diagnosed for faults.
Worst cause scenario is the Steering Angle Sensor on its way out if its happening intermittently.
My car did it intermittently and eventually it became permanent and the sensor needed to be replaced.
Ross Duncan sorted it out for me and costed R5k including coding.
Still have the old sensor and actually stripped it apart to diagnose the failure and it appeared that the bushes were totally worn out on the insides.
I still have the old sensor if you are interested in attempting a fix for it.

Steering angle sensor if the lights came on in conjuntion with a beep. Do they go off when you switch car off and turn it back on and start driving?
Where in JHB are you based, we can then do a quick diagnostic.

speedy I don't recall a beep, yes i switched the car off and on again then it was gone.

Im in florida/roodepoort, nothcliff?i would really appreciate it

Get the codes read, if I'm not mistaken your speedo would not be working if the wheel speed sensor was at fault.

I would agree, however when I went for a dyno it was only the two lights that came up, and not the tyre pressure light. Would go away after driving about a km.

Go for diagnostics :thumbs:
