How the hell do they justify this.

WHat car is this bud , do they need to drop out the centre cross member to get the sump out ?

If so, then I can maybe understand, but if you dont need to do that, dis fscken baie geld vir 'n stuk papier...

Wow did did myself on the E39, got the original part from Auto Atlantic at R368

And as car was due for service at same time, changed oil and filter cost R550

4.5k is a lot of money in anybody's language

DIY cost R918 and 3 hours + 4 cups of coffee

Hey R4000 for a sump gasket

They all crazy, how much does the part cost?

If is does not have a cross memeber than you can do it yourself if you are mechanically inclined

Damn, just drain the oil, fit the Sump plug back, start loosening the sump bolts. the sump would then come off.

Once off, it would be advisable to start cleaning the mating areas.

clean off the areas until clean, fit new gasket, refit sump and torque bolts to specification. torque sump nut and renew oil and oil filter......

you are done!

Hi Guys
I'm also in need of a bmw specialist in Pretoria, my e36 320i leaks oil on the tappet gasket/valve gasket I can buy the part at bemow but I need someone who can fit in properly and torque it correctly, I hate oil leaks please advise. And any idea how much labour it may cost me? Thanks
