Piano Black Trim DIY

So I finally got around to finishing off my Piano Black trim (DIY, almost the same way as Sankekur, so I did not bother with a full write-up). Used primer, matt black spraypaint and finally lots and lots of clear gloss, with a bit of wet sanding and finally some polish.

Anyway, here is the end result. Excuse the dirty interior - was rushing to get the pictures taken while there was still some light:

I might also have a 2nd set for sale in a week or two, if anyone is interested, as I practiced on another set in case I stuffed it up - hence I now have my current wooden trim spare, which is going to get the same piano black treatment.

Looks really good, the piano black goes really with your interior.

Thanks dude - yep, the trim does make the interior look much more modern.

IMO, the wooden trim is just wrong in the E46. I can't believe some okes specced their M3's with the wooden trim too :slap:

I hear you... Still got the wood trim.. Vomit! How much for the piano treatment?

Left builders warehouse with a total of around R300 of paint. Went back for more gloss .... Spent a few days finding 3000 grit paper :cursin: and spent about 4-5 evenings spraying.

Once I complete the other set (which will only fit on a E46 sedan), I think I'm gonna put it up for around R800 to R1000 or so :dunno: depending on how much extra spray paint I need to buy ...

I think it will be cheaper and more durable to take it to spray shop and have them paint it for you... I don't have much respect for paint that doesn't need hardener...

(think ive posted this before somewhere.. :mmm: )

Don't feel bad dude. I knew a guy who was actually into fat chicks so the whole wood trim thing is acceptable by comparison

Very nice work, looking to do something similar as well. I see you have a DVD navigation system in there, how well is that one working? I will be receiving mine in the next couple of days!
