Personal Mechanics..

Hey guys,

After reading about Kobus' experiences with SAC and other forum members bad experiences with various "reputable tuners", i have to ask the question:

Where are the old school honest mechanics?

I don't have the time to work on my cars, but theres an old man (he would swear at me if he knew i called him old) that i trust completely with my bmws.

-They say you can always judge a mackey's workmanship by the condition of his OWN car and this toppie's 325is has to be one of the neatest and well tuned ones i've seen..

He works from home, his phone is never off and he will tell me exactly what needs to be done, and what its going to cost..

There has to be more of them out there across the country, and we should look at perhaps listing them if people are ok with that?

Thoughts guys?

I love how you say you don't work on your cars but your signature says "I'd rather be in the garage".

What are you doing in the garage might I ask??

Working on my own cars is something i love doing, but leaving home before the sun comes up and getting home late on most days means that its unfortunately not really possible..

I work on them when i can (hence the signature), but for work that needs to be done with relative urgency - that gets outsourced to my mechanic.

There are a few guys I know of and trust with my car. In Jhb it has to be Tunetech... Truly awesome. not ripoffs and honest...

In Dbn it has to be Rupesh from RM Autotech..

I trust rupesh so much that I actually call Tunetech "JORups" (JO = Johannesburg, Rups = Rupesh)...
