Performance mods 320d e90

Hi guys. I was wondering, does anyone know of any power mods that are worth doing to my 320d? I do a lot of towing and I'd like a bit of extra ooomph, thanks in advance

Hey Bud, you can easily get some more ponies out of the car!

My 1st word of advice is to give the car a Proper once over making sure all maintenance was done, etc.. Last thing you want is for your mods to put strain on parts that need replacing.

Once happy.. Contact some of the Forum sponsors.. Xcede, RK Motion, etc they will have tons of advice on Downpipes, Exhausts, Remaps all of which will make you gain some nice power.

All the best!

Thanks very much. I've done a few checks. All services in order, when it went in for wheel alignment I took a good look at the underside. Barely any damage so it's been looked after. I'm sending oil in to get sampled soon. My biggest fear is modding something and causing any issues. I want to send it to BMW for engine, gearbox and diff oil, as well as radiator flush and brake fluid. Just so I know it's done. But with 113 on the clock it should be perfect

instead of paying excessive amounts to BMW i would suggest you take the car to ZF, let them to the gearbox and diff oil change, thereafter you can do the engine oil yourself or a good reputable mech.

Use the money you save and get the mods you are looking for.

Thanks very much. Where is ZF? Also which of the mods are the most recommended?

ZF Services is in Germiston. You can ask for Nico or Hardus - ‭(011) 457-0005‬.

As for mods - I would just go with a downpipe (which will eliminate the CAT) and then software. No need for turbo upgrades etc. as with software only you will have a completely different car already.

DO NOT fall for a plug and play chip and the gains they supposedly offer as it’s mostly nonsense and will not yield anywhere near the same gains as software will.

Like everyone else said. DP & SW should be high on your list. From there you can add full exhaust and so on if you want more.

Thanks for all the helpfull replies everyone. I'm going to have a look into them. Glad to know that there are options that will help me without hurting the car

This is debatable, all cars are not the same, even those with full service history. You need to ensure you are modding from a good base. Modding will cause the weakest link to break and need to be prepared if that scenarios arises.

Why wait for him? There is a few 320d's on the forum with mods that you can have a look at.

Which is yours though, you did say on the other thread that I should keep an eye on yours as you're doing downpipe / exhaust soon. Send a link to your 320d thread?
