Hi Guys

Recently did a bumper upgrade on a 2006 e90. Bumper upgrade went well and kinda easy but having a problem with my PDC's. Whenever I place the car in reverse now it beeps constantly like im really close to something.

Any ideas? I have checked that they are clean but is there a way that I can check that they are all working ?

Will appreciate some help

One of the sensors may be stuffed. Unplug one at a time and see if you can pinpoint the problem one. If all of them seem problematic, then the controller unit may be stuffed. Probably a short somewhere.

I think the new bumper is obstructing one or more of them.

Pics of old bumper vs pics of new bumper??

Do you have iDrive?

Thanks Hellas, I’ll give that a try - But would the system still work if I unplug one of the sensors( I mean will it beep)?

I don’t have Idrive and upgraded to a M Sport bumper so I cant see that anything would obstruct it.

Is there perhaps a specific way that it has to be fitted i.e. don’t know if I turned it upside down or something like that and it might be picking up the ground?

It will work if you plug in one at a time. Do that and wave your hand in front to the sensor to see if it works.

If you had iDrive this would be so much easier, but yeah do what Hellas is saying that should work:thumb:

Switch the cars ignition on without starting. Put the car in reverse, then go and listen @ each sensor for a clicking sound. Find the one that doesnt click, unplug it, clean the contacts and plug it back. Use a cable tie around each plug to secure the connection.

If this doesnt work then its probably the control unit as Hellas stated.

Hopes this helps.
