Its like the entirety of the 80's were condensed into vehicle form.

Very nice ride bud.

I would also not cut into panels to fit speakers on a classic such as this..

Righto, so PC's Red Shark aka "The Money Pit" continues as one of the best income reducing substances known to man, but boyo, am I still in love!
:blowheart:
:blowheart:
So an update:
Had major issues with an already wonky ignition switch that went completely bust but replaced now with OEM ignition switch (R2.5k), very tricky to fit!
Some interior trim (cracked drivers door handle) fixed and systematically replacing vinyl inlays inside

Now, some advise please from the forum denizens:
Would like to improve lightning (headlights). Any thoughts as to the way forward- anybody got some post-1987 E24 ellipsoid headlamps laying around (RHD??)
(Can ellipsoids be retrofitted, from E32 or E30 even??)

In lieu of the above obviously one can upgrade the bulbs- any suggestions as to what type/wattage is possible/safe (Luis Malhou mentioned that one can run into some real issues with "halogen like" bulb retrofits)

Probably good idea also to polish the lenses(??)

Next project (already received all the new parts): Springs/Bilsteins all four corners, strut mounts, anti-tram bushes, and door rubbers!

You will not find post 87 projector lights in this country. The UK is your only bet and be prepared to pay. E32/E34/E30 do not fit sadly. Even new projector lights are seemingly NLA. Oddly enough I have a spare set of lights I've just had restored which you are welcome to try and see if they're an improvement.

Maybe consider retrofitting a set of HID's? You don't necessarily have to get bulbs with a white/blue tinge if you're looking to keep the OEM yellow/Amber appeal, as HID's come in different color temperatures and you will be able to find bulbs with near OEM color output but much more light output.

Btw, she's an absolute beaut, bud. Never seen a manual example in the flesh.

Problem with retrofitting other globes types, somehow they react with the glue used to seal the glass to the headlight base. This causes it to vapourise and deposit a white residue on the inside of the glass. Seems the heat range is more than what they were made to handle.

Ok, "Money Pit" activities ongoing!

Supension/shocks/rims and tyres sorted- now +_ standard ride height/ground clearance/stance (previously seriously worn out lowered ride- will have to change my profile pic now...)

8.5J front rims and 9.5J rear rims thus 234/45/17 front vs 255/40/17 rear

Yup. Its like a work of art. Cant stop looking.

1. Your numberplate is causing my eye to twitch uncontrollably. Need an explanation, STAT.

2. Your exhaust is causing my other eye to twitch uncontrollably. I feel it needs to be lifted a bit.

1. It's not funny if I have to explain it:
Patron in the Spanish sense (Patrón): Literally father of 4 (4 kids)

2. Sharp eyes on the exhaust: Haven't attended to that yet- looking at having custom branches and (semi?) free-flow setup made by BMW performance exhaust guru. Thinking of having only a single large stove pipe at the back- I can already hear the moaning, tearing out of beards and gnashing of teeth from the purist! My riposte: "It's all about the bass' i.e. hearing that silky six growl/howl
(But engine overhaul first...)

cheers

I was thinking your numberplate had something to do with the nice Tequila. The actual explanation is quite cool. :)

Concerning the exhaust, I feel as long as you make it look good and tasteful, a resto mod would be awesome
