Panic mode

Hey guys,

So I recently downloaded the owners manual and browsing and reading along, I then noticed that the BMW's comes with a panic mode, apparently when the car is locked and alarm activated, you press and hold the trunk (arrow showing to you) button to activate panic mode, and any other key to deactivate.

Could anyone confirm this? For me I have to hold the trunk button more than 2 seconds to open it

I doubt it, if you hold the trunk button down it will open the trunk.
I know I accidentally set off something like that I think in my mazda but it was when I pressed one of the buttons a few times in quick succession (was bored). :fencelook:

Is your car alarm linked to the tracker? That is weird...

Aren't you supposed to test the tracker at least once a year to make sure it works? :fencelook:

this is a requirement in North America, all cars have a panic button on the remote ...

I reckon the local ones are capable of doing it but its most likely deactivated from factory ...

Yes, early warning system. My little girl tested it a week ago. She does the testing quite often. :) that's why I'm not going to test it.

I tried on mine as well, the 330i you have to hold in the trunk button for more than 2sec in order to open it, but will try on my 318 and the X as well..

I think it could come in handy for many reasons, think I will fiddle with the settings to see if I can reactivate it.
