Paint damage

Some nice old lady decided to close the gate on my car today at my Gran's old age home. I saw it happening but couldn't react in time. The safety sensors on the gate were obviously not working. I decided to let the gate hit in one place rather than try drive away and get a scratch all the way along my car. I know it doesn't look bad, but I am depressed now

but you could have made it if you floored it :fishwack:

I must be getting old, I used to react much quicker.

I was in reverse at the time, and if I had floored it I would have taken my bumper / exhaust etc off on the driveway/road ramp. Happened too quick for me to take it out of reverse and put it into 1st and go back in.

I was sooo p*ssed, the little old lady hid away when she saw me react to the damage.

Seether, I have that stuff but bought it through Bimmian almost a year ago. It is just packaged differently.

It would be much cheaper just to find a Dent Doc type place or someone with some touch-up and a buffer. Perhaps even your dealership may have some lying around.

Here is what I bought but never used it beacuse I could not read the instructions and hate having to mix stuff....already mixing fuel & meth...:=):

Was planning to ask Revo to test the stuff. Now you have inspired me to do so.

Thanks for info. I may try the dealership first. I also have some stone chips on the front bumper from everyday driving, so thought I could sort those out with the same product. The good thing about chipex is you can remove it with their one formula if you make a boo-boo.

Hi Bud,

You should be able to polish out the bulk of that,

Pop past any panel shop, and ask them to try and buff it with an abrasive polish, I usually dont even charge for this.

Thanks for your input.

That would be great, but the paintwork looks to me like its been crumpled back exposing the bumper material underneath.

There is no DentDoctor in Durban unfortunately, and the service levels that you uphold are seriously lacking here.

Checked the web site of the product you have, and you are right, it looks like the same thing. I would be interested in getting some, especially for the stone chips that dont polish out.
