P0597 OBD error

Anyone had this issue?

it says Powertrain: Vehicle speed, idle control and Auxiliary inputs - iso/sae controlled

Thermostat heater control circuit/open

Any advice?

Car is on Motorplan but BMW doesnot pick up this fault on there system. I have used another diagnostic tool to find this error myself.

The problem i am having is were i can feel flat spots on the power and need to switch of the car and start up again for it to be fine....This is intermitant daily.

Any advice?

Fault Location: Thermostat heater control system - open circuit
Problem cause: Wiring, relay, thermostat heater

I would say when its doing it stop at a dealership..don't switch off, leave all switched on with all the error lights etc showing and get someone to help you and check it out then and there.. :thumbs: GL

Thanks gents...Car is at the dealer, Crankshaft and vanos went.....
