A while back I wrote a thread about my car E39 540i gulping down 25L/100km, well to cut a long story very short...Ric540 did a diagnostic, changed my injectors and spark plugs and disconnected my oxygen sensor bank 1 as bank 2 was not reading either, yes it was a fudge but in my favour and consumption was more than halved....

Part 2 of this epic tale....me being cash strapped and also having a reacurring problem with my boot loom wires causing the remote not to lock/unlock car...I arranged to meet Ric on Saturday afternoon for a bit of tlc...

Well in no time at all he repaired and tested the boot loom

Then he removed my oxygen sensors, they were already disconnected, but still attached, by disconnecting them the computer substituits a valve of 0.45 when it cannot pick up the sensor. He then removed his still working sensors and put them in my car :excited: After which he put new sensors in his car

WOW - what a difference it makes...super smooth and accelerates better, no need to push the pedal anymore it just goes and goes

Fuel consumption at 120km/h on the N2/R300 back home was a low low 8.6L/100km....

Now thats what I call MAGIC

I just knew.... this man is a magician!!!

Give that man a Bells!!!

I would love to see that positive change on mine still, could be why my son thinks my car has "turbo-lag" without a turbo.

Enjoy Ian... you are in good hands!!

It must be a blast to feel the differrence Ian!!?

You see, when your last car was an old delapidated (sorry for the spelling/ or not) VW CLi Exec, then this E39 528i feels like the earth is moving and your fillings want to fall out every time you put your foot down.... till you meet the right people and have a taste of what these magnificant vehicles are capable of.....

Can't wait...
